My name is Shakera West. I am reaching out to inquire about possible financial assistance options now that I have received my APRC. ? ? I was granted my APRC on January 3, 2025. However, I have been unemployed since August 2024 due to health issues. My previous job as a teacher required me to stand for long periods, which created and exacerbated my foot pain. To the point that it hurt to even place my feet on the ground lightly. My doctor recommended that I avoid standing for extended periods and undergo physical therapy. Unfortunately, the nature of my job did not allow for this, so I decided to leave my position at the end of my contract to focus on healing. ? ? In addition to the ongoing physical therapy for my feet, I have recently dislocated my knee, which has added to my medical challenges. This requires extra therapy as well as regular strength training exercises, which I attend at a gym. While these treatments are essential for my recovery, they have placed an additional strain on my finances. ? ? Since leaving my job, I have been relying on my savings, which are now depleted. With my APRC in hand, I am actively seeking employment but need assistance sustaining myself during this transition. ? ? During my previous employment, I was covered by labor insurance. I am wondering if this qualifies me for any programs such as unemployment benefits or other labor insurance-related assistance. ? ?
