Dear Sir/Madam, ? ? Can an Australian, after entering Taiwan with visa-exempt entry, while in Taiwan, search for jobs, apply to jobs, and go to job interviews for jobs based in Taiwan? ? ? I have read the below information, which does not explicitly answer my question: ? Those who have entered Taiwan visa-free for purposes that do not require a permit—such as engaging in tourism, visiting friends or relatives, attending social events, conducting business, attending exhibitions, and engaging in fact-finding missions or international exchanges—who then intend to engage in activities that, according to the laws and regulations of relevant agencies, do require a permit must still obtain such a permit. ? ? Of course one cannot start a job in Taiwan without a work permit. But I do not know what is permitted regarding job searching, applying, and interviews in Taiwan prior to working. ? ? I know that the visa for employment-seeking purpose is available. But visas for travel or study purposes are also available, yet Australians can travel or study in Taiwan (within the limits of visa-exempt entry) without a need for any visa.
